Our Psychologists
Dr. Glenn Bilsborrow is a highly qualified and experienced clinical psychologist based in Northwest Tasmania. He holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DPsych), a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Psychology (B.A. Hons), a Master’s degree in Psychology, and a Bachelor of Business (BBus). He has been registered as a practising psychologist since 2005, with a clinical endorsement under national law, and his registration number is PSY0001485627.
Dr. Bilsborrow has extensive experience in the field of clinical psychology, having worked in both government mental health services in Northwest and Southern Tasmania and in private practice. Since 2011, he has been self-employed, running a busy private practice. His clinical work has included the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of a wide range of mental disorders, as well as conducting cognitive assessments.
Dr. Bilsborrow is a member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA) and has several published research articles. He is known for his evidence-based treatment approach, which is collaborative, compassionate, and solution-focused. He is non-judgmental and works in a grounded and empathetic manner.
He has specialized training in several therapeutic modalities, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), and Schema Therapy. Dr. Bilsborrow has also undertaken extensive training in Mindfulness-integrated Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (MiCBT) and has incorporated this approach into his practice since 2005, using it almost exclusively since 2011. He is a Research Associate at the MiCBT Institute, where he contributes to mindfulness-related studies.
Dr. Bilsborrow has a particular interest in working with adults aged 16 or older, and he is experienced in addressing a variety of psychological and emotional issues, including depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, phobias, attention deficit/hyperactivity and autism spectrum conditions. His commitment to ongoing professional development is reflected in his participation in numerous training seminars, workshops, and mindfulness retreats.
